Mark B. Weiss, CCIM began his business career at 19 years of age, in 1972 when he conceived the idea and later opened the Uncle Dan Army-Navy Stores in Chicago and launched their international mail order catalog business.
Mr. Weiss became involved in real estate by obtaining his Illinois real estate broker license and set out on his own rather than working for another real estate company. He began Mark B. Weiss Real Estate Brokerage, Inc in 1988. Over the years he has become well recognized nationally in the sale of commercial and investment property for financial institutions, private owners, corporations and trusts, and as a developer. Mark has authored five real estate books available on Amazon and at bookstores everywhere. He was inspired by the ability to make a good living on his own schedule.
Mark believes that the best way to get involved in real estate is to start as an agent or a broker rather than first as an investor; you need to know what you are doing by learning hands on. After you have spent time doing research and educating yourself it is time to get started. Go out, find a great deal, make money and be able to build on your foundation.
Mark feels that 'One key piece of information for someone starting out is to be patient and take the appropriate time to learn because trying to do things too quickly can be your own worst enemy. Know the right steps to take and follow the lead of a proven name that you can trust. Mr. Weiss sought out many people to mentor him, he learned from numerous brokers and investors with more experience than he had. He follows that practice to this day.
Mark wants people to know that his real estate web site is describes real life situations, not hypothetical overly optimistic, pie in the sky, possibilities. He is a practitioner proving that his efforts work everyday. His Real Estate Secrets site features the best material on the web because it isn't smoke and mirrors. It is what he does for a living; he makes the deals he talks about.
Mr. Weiss wants everyone to know that they will make money with his program. "The harder you work the luckier you get." The best benefit of implementing his services and skills is that he is actively involved in the real estate business. He knows what to avoid and what will be in his best interest to invest in. During July of 2006, Mr. Weiss bought and sold $5 million in real estate, showing us a more practical application of doing business. The reliability of his program comes from someone who is in the business everyday rather than a scam artist whipping up a new scheme. He has been actively selling property using the Auction method of sale as well as being well versed in traditional sales and sealed bid and public call auctions. Mr. Weiss acts in the capacity of the auctioneer as well as auction event coordinator.
What Mark B. Weiss, CCIM, likes best about what he does is the freedom it allows him to do other things. There is possibility to work as much or as little as you want. The more time and effort you put into your pursuit, the more fruitful it will be. If you are only interested in making a supplementary income, it is not necessary to devote as much time as the individual who wants a career in real estate.
"The most important quality someone needs to be successful in real estate is perseverance" states Mark. Mr. Weiss states in baseball terms, "The best way to approach the odds in to recognize that you can succeed with a low batting average like Ted Williams a 401 lifetime average is excellent. Your returns can be high with a lower average than we give ourselves credit for. Don't miss out on opportunities by being impatient and too critical if you are only hitting singles. Just get around the bases. If you strike out, don't quit, your next time up to bat will be a hit, give yourself a chance and keep going.'"
A graduate of DePaul University, Mr. Weiss associated with many well respected groups in the Chicago area including Lincoln Park Builder's Club, Rogers Park Builders Club and the Edgewater Uptown Builders Club both the Chicago association of Realtors and the Northern Illinois Association of Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Weiss has been awarded multiple "Good Neighbor Awards" from the Chicago Association of Realtors for excellence in vintage renovation of historical residential properties located in many of Chicago's neighborhoods. Mr. Weiss is frequently retained as an expert witness in legal cases involving a variety of private, bankruptcy, and disputed real estate matters.
